Hi Paul,

when we spoke I said that sliding pillar wasnt the best.....& it isnt,

but I ran my car for 3 years with it before I switched to wishbones.

My preference is for a setup suited to trackdays, & the SP wasnt really suited for that.

Bu there is nothing wrong with it for the road use you described, provided a few well known mods are made to it.

Look for splits or stretched metal on all corners inside the car and under bonnet.

Check all suspension mounts and surrounding areas for cracks or splits.

Sliding pillar car should be cheaper than top and bottom wishbones.

How much info comes with it, as in service, maintenance and repair.

Shows how much the owner cared for it instead of just blasting around having negligent fun.

Look before you leap.

I am not an s7 owner but I have learnt the original front suspension is quite commonly remarked on in the forum.

Something about roll bar, tie bars and splits on the sliding pillar top joint.

Lots modified to wishbone.

And of coarse the registration made out to Robin Hood.

The Sierra roll bar is replaced with tie bars. These go into the normal roll bar mounts and then attach to the chassis.

The springs are also best changed to 120lb springs.

Depending on the exact model some can crack around where the pivot point. Earlier models don't have this issue.

All can crack where the engine tray meets the main chassis but is easily fixed.

Hi Paul,

After a lot of thought, mine will be going up for sale very soon, as I simply no longer get sufficient use out of it.

I've been composing some details over the last few days actually, which I'll post on here tonight when I'm home...
