My dad wants one of these solar battery chargers for his birthday are they any good does anyone have any idea? ive looked on ebay and a average price is £30 ish id appreciate any ideas about these or are they poo!!!

Look at the maplin site, also the caravan and camping site, they use them for keeping the battery charged up in the winter, will ask my dad over the weekend where he got his from. Also try ebay

Are they actually any good in winter? perhaps a wind turbine would be better.

I've got one sitting on my classic, it means that I can leave the battery connected all year round. Bought it from maplins - they often have them 1/2 price in their sales, I think it cost me about 25 notes.
