Flaring Sides On My Zero

Im looking to flare the sides on my Zero. From the wishbones to in front of the scuttle to allow for extra cooling. Im going to using Alloy to keep the weight down. Can anyone recommend what thickness to use.

I used 1mm ally when i built my hard top. I think this give a good balance between being light and easy to work with but it isn't so thin that it dents easily.

 

I used Aluminum Warehouse to buy the sheet and extrusion I needed. The prices seem quite good and the service was excellent.

I use aluminium warehouse as well as prices are good.........however the only downside is they seem to charge £15 delivery on every order,be it small quantity of large quantities. Best thing is to order everything you need in 1 go so you only pay 1 delivery charge.

Have you got a fag packet picture -- may have ali section you require in Stock -- would allow suck it & see of framework maybe & at little cost .

I used 1.2mm to do Bobson's makeover for the panels and 1.5mm where I wanted a bit more rigidity.

Use 1 mm and bead/dimpe die in places to allow stiffness. Plus it looks good. I always think rolled edges looks better
