#382491 Retired.

Posted by red7 on 31 March 2018 - 09:32 AM

I retired on Thursday. It's going to take some getting used to not working for a living. I'm happily married and my wife retired early to look after our grandchildren. I'm very fortunate to be in good shape for 63 year old so I won't be sitting about waiting to check out. I have my fifteen year old MX5 to cherish and enjoy and a load of other interests and hobbies. I'll so have time to visit all the great mates I've made through this club over the past fifteen years. My S7 went a couple of years ago so I'm on the lookout for a new project MX5 based kit. Any suggestions?

I know quite a few of us run old MX5's and I was wondering what your insurance costs come in at?
I've just been quoted £370 fully comp. for my fifteen year old 1.8 mk 2.5.
My details:-
63 years old.
Car parked on drive at night.
Clean licence.

I was at Dalemain last summer and it was an excellent show in a great venue. It would be good to see some 7s this year.

I've got a few folks interested in buying the car. I placed a for sale ad. In Cars & Classics and within a few hours I had a guy from Germany would like to send his mate with the cash and a trailer to collect the car. This is not the first time I've heard of Robin Hoods going abroad.

I had a RC plane once, maiden flight It made a perfect take off into the wind, climbed to 50ft and flew off into the distance, never to be seen again.

Ian, your car was a beauty and that's all you got. Sign of the times. I'll run it this summer and give it some T.L.C. Maybe take it to some shows and put a For Sale sign on the window. Got a nibble on FB from a mate.

I'm getting one after watching that xxxx in the disco wipe out that poor family on the news tonight. I'm sure without video evidence he would have lied his way out of a four year sentence.

#356305 Poor Running - Is It Coil/ht Leads?

Ian, here's a wild guess. I had a similar problem. Turned out to be contaminated fuel. Problem was cured by filling the tank with fresh fuel. Just a thought.

Don't worry Grizzly, if you ever feel the need for a blast in a Robin Hood there's always a spare seat or two on club runs.

Welcome aboard Graham, you should get yourself along to your nearest next club meeting, great group of people. Club run outs will be starting very soon.
