Has anyone got a diagram showing the wiring loom for a 2.0 pinto with the non vacuum

advance dizzy (three small pins in a line)...

i have wired these on a few occassions in the past.

but the alchohol must be starting to affect my memory....

so what was i doing.........

sorry i know this topic has been done many times before.

i have read so many posts i am confused

the dizzy (which was not from the donor) has 3 wires coming off it..

so looking at the diagrams it is a esc 1 type circuit

the amp is 83BB 12A199 B3A 095078 and has 6 wires

but they do not match the colour codes on the ESC 1 circuit

i found this on colin ushers site

http://www.colinusher.info/Robin%20Hood/wireap8.html

which is the right colour codes but only shows two cables going to dizzy

is the third one an earth i can take from pin 6 or are the dizzy and amp not compatible

if it is the 6 wire ecu then a older dizzy must be used with the two wire.

the hall effect dizzy is a 3 wire jobby with the esc-11 with about 25 wires

unless some one tells me wrong

hth :D

i was dreading that..

please can someone tell me there is a way!!!

can i use an esc II module and just leave out the wires to the stepper motor, relays etc

as using twins 40's dont have inlet manifold heater etc....

YES! And that is probably the cheapest option...

Failing that get to the breakers and rob some transits.

The ESCll module is not a good one to use with twin 40's. It gets its engine load data from a manifold vacuum reading which it can't do with no manifold plenum. It sounds as if you have in fact got an inductive ignition amplifier 83BB********and a hall effect dizzy. Better to try to find an inductive Bosch dizzy from a pre 85 sierra. They do have an old style vacuum advance which is easily disabled and the springs can be 'tuned' to give a good advance curve.

Dont think so. I believe that is hall effect. There other ways round it. Get an old points dizzy and matching coil and just run that. Modify an old points dizzy with an electronic unit like magnetronic or lumenition or aldon ignitor or buy one from aldon or bestec or wherever.

I am 99% sure the P100 engine I had in first had a hall dizzy. It had a simple ignition module (basically just a VB901) with about 6 wires. The ignition module had no control of the advance, it triggered straight off the hall signal. This system was also used on 1.6 economy sierra's (I completed the wiring with bits from one).

So you could have the right dizzy and ignition module. Have a look at the P100 and 1.6 economy wiring diagrams.

Gavin, come over and see me some time..... i may have the motorcraft amps you need.

The 2 i have are a small black motorcraft one with 6 pins on a 5mm ally plate 83BB ********* and a large blue plastic one on a pressed metal bracket, this one connects with 22 conections on a circuit board VO ******, also have the dizzy that it connects too.
