Hi Guys

Last night I had a look under scuttle to find the best place to mount wheel boxes ie

Either central with a 110 degree sweep or off to right with a 90 degree sweep.

Was suprised to find a large piece of wood which seems to be glued onto the underneath of the scuttle ?

For what reason extra support of the scuttle.

Anyone else have this on aS7 ??

So the question is. Do I try to remove it ?

Or drill through it wood is 25 mm thick I think it's possible to get a longer shaft on the wheel box's.

Placement of the wiper motor seems like I will have to be a contortionist

Thanks for any help

Alan

Hi Richard

Well this wood runs 18 '' long glued to underside of scuttle it's 1'' depth. So if it's there to strengthen scuttle I don't want to take it off.

So think best way is to find long spindle wheelboxes and mount wiper motor on passenger side.

Although I could get a standard wheelbox each side of the wood and just have a 90 degree sweep with a left park.

Can you not thin the wood down with a chisel. Get some one to support it so you don't damage your scuttle.

Fit your wipers and then add some angle, as suggested by Dan, to re install some strength?
