Evening all, just after a little advise I'm currently in the build process and installing the loom with regards to the dashboard is it best to fit the horrible one that came with the kit and use the original Sierra dials which are horrible and I know I'll be too busy driving it and not change it to how I'd want so I'd much rather fit a grp dash along wth my full set off smiths telemetrix dials and savage switches.

 

My question is will I have any issue with the Iva fitting the later as far as I'm aware the smiths have the correct radius along with the savage switches. Then if and when it passes I can devote all my time to driving it not altering it.

If all the edges are within tolerance it will be OK, I made the same choice before IVA will post a picture when I return home.

Savage switches are fine if you sit them at their lowest point. Telemetric gauges also have iva safe bezels so I'd just fit it all now

Just make sure GRP dash has correct lower radius

Yeah I was looking at the one from kit spares that has a 19mm lower radius I think it was

is it still the same that 'sharp' things are ok in a certain area behind the steering wheel? eg you can use toggle switches if you want.

The only thing I'll need on the dash that's not going to be more or less flush is the choke cable so asking as its near the column it should be ok then?

There is an area around your steering wheel that is exempt. Can't remember the size but is in the manual.

This was my dash and passed, didn't even check with sphere.

I have the dials and savage switchs along with toggle switches for main beam and indicators, no problem with IVA. Toggle switches are in the except area which in a Zero is pretty big and covers a good bit of the dash to the left and the right.
