Lincolnshire Meet For July

18 Jun 2017

Posted by alanrichey in Events

Sending this out a bit early as I would like to try the Baston Car Show this year (https://www.bastoncarshow.com/about, a few miles south of Bourne) and this takes place on Sunday 2nd July.

I need to know the level of interest in the next few days to see if we need to apply for a Group registration.   If there are more than 5 cars coming I need to apply by 26th June.    Otherwise we will just arrange to group up and arrive in formation.

(From GBS website)

We would like to invite you all to our GBS Weekend... Our Summer Open Day which is going to be held at the GBS factory. It will be a great chance to come and meet the GBS team , look around the GBS Workshop, Machine Shop and Show Room as well as the Kit Spares Shop & showroom & a possible test drive in our Zero demonstrators. We will also be celebrating 10 years of the GBS Zero sports car so it is extra special & we hope to get a car park full of Zero's. Then on the Sunday we will be at Rockingham for a Track Day with the Zero's. Please see the track day event for more details & to book your place.
We look forward to seeing you all over the weekend & hope you will be able to join us.

We will be holding a raffle on the day for a fantastic prize that has kindly donated by Rockingham that I’m sure you would all like to WIN! Which is a Family Ticket to the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) that is held 26th & 27th August..... Good luck!

Rockingham Speedway - Summer Thursdays

03 Jun 2017

Posted by Clive in Events
First Thursday of the month over the summer, rock up at Rockingham Speedway (bonus points for play on words), £2 per person, 1800-2000 hrs, park up, walk the line to view lots of other classics and modifieds, watch some drifting (various skills on display lol) and a good number of people racing the track...4 kits last Thursday + lots of saloons racing (you can pay extra to do this). Check out the Rockingham Speedway website for the full details of the event.

On the line was me with 'James the Kit' and a RAW.

A fun little evening for tiny £'s. Would be good if we could get a few RHoCAR's there, next event is 6th July.....please add you thoughts/comments etc

(PS I'm only going if it's dry lol)

Lincolnshire Meet For June

01 Jun 2017

Posted by alanrichey in Events

It was looking quite good for June until I checked around this morning.   We normally all get together at the Castle Bytham Midsummer Fair on Sunday June 18th, park up together on display and enjoy the village fair.   But apparently it is now the Midsummer Festival and the new organisers have removed the 'Classic Car' banner from the web page (http://www.midsummerfair.co.uk/).   I have contacted them to ask if this was intentional or are we are still welcome to attend.  Watch this space.

Then I checked our regular hangout at 'GearHeads at the Ground' in Newark, only to find the June meet has been cancelled.

So that just leaves the GBS Open Day on Sat 10th June (http://www.greatbrit...co.uk/events-2/), which I will probably attend.

I'm off on holiday again next week (I know, it's a hard life but someone has to do it) so when I get back I should know about Castle Bytham.  If they don't want us I will organise something else.
