Vin Plate Letter Size

So despite clear, concise instructions :aggressive: :aggressive: :aggressive: to the engraver telling him the letters had to be a minimum of 3.5mm in height, he's gone and stamped my VIN plate with 2.5mm lettering.

Now it's quite clear to read but obviously to the letter of the law (IVA book) they're slightly smaller than they should be. Are they really likely to get a ruler out and check the letter sizes? Do I have to spunk out another £20 on a chassis plate, do you think?

Just a bit f**ked off at people failing to do what they're asked on a simple f**king task and costing me money as a result... but just wondering if someone has been here and knows from experience that the examiner won't give a monkeys...

The engraver has offered to do it again for free, but of course it's another £20 I need to splash out on the plate from GBS. As you say Rich, it's a £90 retest but I've kinda budgeted that I'll be having a retest anyway, as no-one seems to make it through first time! So I might just "try it on", if he picks up on it fair enough, it's an easy job to swap. Euurgh, I dunno, a portion of me says "just get it re-done" but I'm seriously f**ked off with him that he couldn't follow some simple, basic instructions!
