Hi I've got a noise from the rear of my Robin Hood, I've checked wheel bearing there A1, rear brake, all good no binding or noise,do you think I'm assuming correctly that the Annoying noise must be coming from the diff because when I push the clutch in for e g at 50 mph all noise goes. Much appreciated. Dave

Yes I have, I'll give it a run tomorrow, you could be right about clutch bearing, noise travels ,doesn't always come from the place you think it is., I'll try just lightly resting my foot on clutch, see if it reduces noise. Thanks. Dave

Sierra diffs are solid if correct oil is used at the correct level, my first choice already stated above would be clutch release bearing. However because the speed difference 50-70mph I would also be thinking about gear box bearings, assuming it's generally in higher gears when cruising.

If it was the clutch release bearing you can usually hear it on tickover if you dip the clutch in and out-I have the cure for the noise fit a silencer without baffles like mine and you wont hear anything at 50-70
