last week it took one of our hens so now we keep them in a big cage rather that lettting them roam, bugger came back last night took one if the geese so now we have had to get the electric sheep netting out to keep the sod out ,keeping my shot gun handy

This time of year it probably has young to feed so is willing to take risks. They can be needlessly destructive though. A friend of mine had similar trouble to you so when he heard a commotion in the middle of the night grabbed his gun and raced down stairs stark naked, threw open the front door and on seeing the offender nip past let him have both barrels. Once the roar of the discharge had died away he went to inspect the deceased fox which was when his wife reminded him that he'd parked his brand new skoda behind the hedge.

Still got him before he got any chickens
