High Pressure Fuel Pump

Thanks Tractor for your time to reply and the link. Would the mods be to cut the 2 rods down (one has a spring on it, would the purpose of the spring to hold the pump to the bottom of the fuel tank ?) and I have a mx5 1.8 engine fitted that I'm hoping to run from the OEM ecu, so would the pump be plug and play ? Ive not had the tank made yet, so hopefully can design it to accommodate the extra height with a welded collar. Is there any particular reason for having the pump central to the tank?

in the middle of the tank cos filler at one end and fuel gauge sender at other plus it was the easy place to get the drill in cos the tank is bonded in place

I've got the same setup, works really well. Got mine set far tot he one side and so far so good, also using the fuel level sender that came as part of it.

once fitted it didnt take up to much room in the boot

no way i could keep the fuel sender on it had to cut all that off to get it small enough

Am I stating the obvious by saying I won't need an additional sender as I'll use the one built in ? Will it work with the mazda fuel relay etc ?

Sorry if any of these questions come across as dumb !

and yes the spring is to hold against bottom of tank but bottom of zero tank is not flat so spring had to go

Theduck , did you mod your pump or did you fit it and mod tank to suit?

stuart had to cut it as well but his tank is slightly deeper so he was able to keep fuel sender

Ah, ok. Did you look into using the golf mk3 pump as it doesn't have the rods ?
