As my SVA date will be with me shortly i have booked my car into a local garage (the only 1 i trust) for a check over/MOT and tracking etc to be sorted. The easiest way to get the car there is to drive it, does anyone know if any of thee specialist insurance companies can issue me with a days cover note so that im all legal?

If SVA is that close then get on and insure it for the year.

Then it is leagl to drive and the second consideration is , if it is now mobile it is also stealable  .

Get it insured just in case some scrote has seen you drive it down your drive, you just never know :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo:

Can get insurance on chassis number without priblem.

I used Osbourne and Sons; cheap quote but were happy to have it in three installments. They told me that I had to register the car within 2 weeks of taking out the policy (!) but when it came to it were very sympathetic about VOSA and DVLA and as long as I kept them informed they were happy to issue me several cover notes based on the chassis number.

Put it on eBay and buy it back yourself for 1p - They offer free insurance for a couple of days for cars bought through themselves.
