#352219 Setting Up Front Wheels

Posted by Thrashed on 24 February 2016 - 06:56 PM

In my area i found it very difficult to get set up coorrectly, most new electronic system requires make/model etc. and Zero is not listed. Occassionally the odd system has caterham, there are a few race or rally people but not found one with experience on our cars.
any ideas for figures with Zero geometry?

Mark. I have been to see proComp in erdington. They set up race cars/ 750 club stuf and the price to Dyno the shocks, corner weight and set up as good a possible with what's already on the car was very reasonable. I have to stay and help for the whole day but seems educational too.

Will let you know how I get on.

Here are a few likes of video i took over the weekend:

Derek's mate - Think he was asking if you like Nescafe coffee? (other coffee brands are available)

Mini Adventure (for Trev & Suzanne), awesome little car

Nice day for a hat? - say no more!

Andy Footage - edited out anything that would get him into trouble and this is whats left.

Tunnels - sounds not great, but make 'brum, brum' noises and you get the feeling

Thanks to Richy and Jackie for another awesome weekend. You never fail to put on a great weekend, even got the weather right, what more can you ask for except a bit less scrumpy.

Downloaded all the video and there is about 10 seconds of footage of Andy can that can be used! Will edit the rest out.

Will gets some short clips up on utube soon.

Looking forward to next year already.

#341368 Accuspark

I bought an Accuspark stealth blackbox a while back with the view to upgrade the standard ignition amplifier system on the pinto.

Never got round to fitting the blackbox but then a few weeks ago the pinto developed a serious misfire. So time to swap to the blackbox.

Fitting the locked out dizzy was straight forward enough and the wiring for the blackbox is nice and simple too. Except when I tried to connect the blackbox to the laptop nothing? Called accuspark technical who gave a few ideas to try and still no joy.

The query then got escalated to Tony the owner. He suspected that something was faulty inside the blackbox so sent out a new blackbox.

Arrived this morning, connected to the laptop and hey presto! Worked first time.

Just wanted to show that good customer service exists and Steve Walford who did the rolling road for me said for the money it was ideal.

Just need to get it back to Steve to fine tune the map, just any excuse to go play on a rolling road!

Check out the product here: http://www.accuspark...uk/Blackbox.htm. Can't recommend Tony and his team enough based on my experiences.

Well, round 2 on the rollers after sorting out the fuel pump to a bigger pump to supply more fuel and changing to a accuspark dizzy as the original amplifier was giving a misfire.

All in all only an hour to get sorted and turned out 167bhp at the fly.

Not bad for an engine that's nearly as old as me!

Bring on The Wales trip.

Jcc rally on eBay do the higher flow facet for 26 quid! Would save you the hassle. Not much help now you have splashed out already though. On the plus side you'll be good for a few more horses if you ever upgrade

Yer, like you say its there to future proof it!

167 on a pinto?
Mr T, what have you done to its internals

Andi

BISCA F2 bottom end, Injection head ported and polished, valve seats and FR32 cam and springs, Falpro head gasket and Vernier pulley. Standard ignition and ZX6r bike carbs, with jets now at 1.4.

Nothing major really, just seems like all the right parts have come together nicely!

Sorry. In all the excitement I knew the figures!

First run when it tried to jump out the rollers was 155bhp and 155 torque. 2nd run was 167bhp and 153 torque but the graph was showing a very obvious fuel drop at about 5500rpm. I run zX6r carbs and originally was 1.3 jet, drilled out to 1.4. Might need a bit more once new fuel pump is in and should get a few more bhp and torque. Will keep you posted
