Yet Another Engine

for those of you that saw the state of the engine last night at the cov meet i have now stripped it and cleaned and re lapped the valves and its looking good now

Is that the same head off the engine in the back of your van? Thats proper cleaned up. What do you use?

it was in a mess looked like it had been stored outside with no cover on it

i use good old elbow grease and ditermination

i took this one to bits very carefully and numbered everything i thought needed numbering then went to put valves springs back on which i didnt number and turns out they are different sizes so i have put the longer springs on the inlet valves and hope thats correct cos the vvt is on the inlet

Inlet 45mm free length, purple paint on springs.

Exhaust 46.5mm free length, yellow paint on springs

Thats what passion ford reckon mate

It's alive sounds sweet so far just running it up to bleed the rad

whilst i was working on the engine thought i would put the larger injectors in when i started it up it was very rich and the idle was pulsing so re calculated AFR tried the auto tune and it actually worked nice steady idle even went out on a short run in between the showers i did get caught in one luckily i had the roof on all looking good so far tomorrow i will check spark plugs to see if AFR is right check TDC then connect up the VVT and should be ripper
