2B Roll Cage.?

Hi., i intend to use my 2b on track a fair bit and wondered if anyone has ever fitted a roll cage to one and if so., how.?

RH did a version of the 2b chassis (albeit heavily modified) near the end called the 'hood' which had a full integrated race cage. Might be worth googling to have a look at pics of how they did it as it might give some ideas. There was one for sale on here a while back so might be pics still on there.

 

It should (i am guessing as i haven't done it) be relatively easy to weld a frame onto the chassis as it's a nice beefy chassis. The tubing is 2mm from what i remember which is bigger than the 16swg that most 7's use.

Chassis tube on our 2B was 1.5mm except roll bar at 2mm. Kit was collected late 2008 I think.

ah maybe it was the rollbar i was remembering. Unless do you have the stainless chassis? is that the same as the mild steel?

bob,im 6ft 1 mate, the bloke that built this must have been a gorilla! The bloke i bought it from whos owned it for many years was about 5ft 4 and said he loved driving it layed back style! the seat isn't on runners , yet, so how the hell he managed it is beyond me! ive got the seat out and some sliders on the way, will be sorted by the weekend! Thanks for all the replies, ill get some pics up when ive sorted a cage out!
