Sorry, I meant for a new plate... don't you just need a few 'new' bits?

I bought my engine from GBS (really Ford) but the gearbox and diff from other companies and I've got invoices to show they are fully reconditioned.

The government website says 'all new parts' but how would that ever be true for any kit car company, even the likes of Caterham?

Its definately possible to use reconditioned parts, I think it depends on what is definated as "one part". For example, I see drive train is classed as an entire part - thats a lot of different reconditioned parts combined.

I've been reading Richards blog (awesome read BTW) and if you look on the parts list here; http://richards-gbs-zero.blogspot.co.uk/p/parts.htmlhe lists which parts were taken from a donar car and refurbed as new.

He has a new plate, so it is doable.

Realisticly it is all down to what you put on the forms and what receipts you are able to provide. I understand they are now much stricter on new registrations than they were previously, which means providing more receipts of new parts than people may have got away with previously.

Part one of your "heads up" Simon, covers all bases " new parts supplied by the manufacturer"

The other highlights cover "steering assembly" & that surely covers the steering wheel to the front hubs & all bits in between; or does a Zero manage without some of these?

And its further hammering the point by needing info on suspension, which presumably includes the uprights.

Age related plate makes life so much easier.
