Mechanix Gloves

Being as it is ridiculously cold in the Garage at the moment I set about obtaining some gloves that would still enable me to tinker in comfort!!

 

I bough a pair of Mechanix Gloves on ebay from Denniwinters £20 with free delivery!

 

Not only are they the same colour as my kit but they fit, well, like a glove!!!

I was given some of these years ago. They are thick enough to protect your hands (and keep you warm) but thin enough to still be able to feel what you are doing.

 

Mine still look as new, although i didn't build my car

I just eat alot of fatty foods to compensate and then dont bother with gloves.

I bought a propane bottle and space heater that way all of you stays warm :clapping:

Need to be very careful about condensation on your bits with propane -- every litre burnt = a litre of moisture into your garage = very rusty kit.

I thought about buying a propane heater and mentioned my thoughts to a colleague in work. His brainwave "why not just take your camping stove down there". He was right keeps me warm and I can have a hot brew when my hands are too cold!

I use CAT mechanic gloves from Screwfix £16 does the job. Wife handbrake was stuck on last week and I used them with all the frost and snow, nose was frozen hands OK.

I use Nimbus motorsport Ringers fabrication gloves at work, ideal for welding, handling body panels and sheet metal. Bit pricey due to Kevlar stitching but saves your hands

I Bought several pairs of the Mechanix gloves when I was last in the US.

We use them on the Vette cos they are very heat proof.
