Rubber Bonnet Catches Upgrade?

I have these rubber bonnet catches but after a few years there losing flexibility

 

I want to replace them with more robust metal ones, that use or cover the rubber catch mounting holes

Has anyone done this or recommend some catches.

Hi Paul , i changed mine 3 years ago after my IVA test . Brought mine from a local supplier a company making horse boxes , they were heavy dutied stainless steel catchs and yes they covered the rivet holes . You should get some at stoneleigh , I will be their on sunday you can have a look at mine .

Much safer than the rubber type as they have an inbuilt spring clip which holds the latch shut.

And it looks like you can put a securing pin (large R clip?) as added security on those.

you can use anything you like as long as it does the job & passes the iva projection test.

I used the black ones in my 1st post, also have look at aero catches
