Dangerous And Scary !

Hi I have a s7 mono and at motorway speeds 70+ it's just damn scary.

It's like the car wants to float And it will drift !!!

On a B road blast it can hold its own but on a high speed run well !!!!

Went out in it last night just to give it a run out and ended coming home in the wind and rain and found I was on the motorway sh*ting myself doing 35/40 mph with the car feeling like its aqua planning and drifting

I have been all over the car and nothing is loose or broken ' Suspension settings are shimmed rear hubs so camber and toe corrected , front 0.5 deg camber and 1.5 degree toe.

I have an S7 and I can confirm the swept wings do provide lift at speed, when the steering goes light it's time to back off. It's a safety feature. I agree with Mitch, incorrect tyre pressures in a hood are a bad thing too.

I have a monocoque version and its very susceptible to side winds on the motorway. Even if the wind is coming from a constant direction and the car goes round a bend it can feel insecure, presumably as the forces against the car change. Could this be part of your problem?

I've often suspected the camber is too negative on the rear, particularly when we run such low tyre pressures and have a more triangular foot print as a consequence. Combine this with a rear toe angle, wet road and high winds. Does this make any sense? Just my uneducated musings.

Hi I have run a mono s7 for agood while now and when I first drove it was not over immpressed after various mods Inow find it vastly improved 1 do you still have the orig anti roll bar fitted ? if so bin it and fit tiebars

2 how much camber are you running on rear susp 1 to 1.5 is ideal

3 tyre pressures no more than 20 psi

4swept front wings can mke the car feel unstable at speed altho I didnt get the same feelings as you I have fitted cycle type an prefer them]

5 factory front springs were too stiff at 180 lbs I run 120 's plenty stiff enough

the spring rates are also part of the tie bar mod I can send you free details /parts list etc , pm your postal address and they will be sent to you , quite a number have done this mod and I believe all are very satisfied ,get intouch mowerman

My series 7 is stable at motorway speeds although I have the cycle wings. However I have always felt the front end to be to hard, although the rear seems fine. I don't know what springs are fitted. I would be interested in the tie bar conversion if it improves things too, maybe a mod for when the weather improves.
