Misfire And Megajolt

I run a megajolt and edis system. This year I've had an occasional bad misfire such that the engine will not pull. When this happens the tachometer drops to zero. The tacho takes it signal from the megajolt dedicated tacho signal output.

Logic says that there must be an occasional fault on the PIP output from the edis to the megajolt?

Am I correct or is there something I'm missing?

I had an issue similar that turned out to be a broken wire in the plug to the crank position sensor, it was intermittent.

I ended up putting a new sensor plug and wire back to the EDIS.

I also put a support bar across sensor plug to stop cable flexing at the point it goes into the plug.

Sorted it

Well the car ran perfectly to and from Stoneleigh. So the fault looks to have been in the only 10cm piece of 30 year old wiring left on the car even though I couldn't detect a break in it. Let's hope it doesn't reappear!

Great weather, just like the old days! Thanks to all involved in doing our club stand.
