Well I can assure you that I'm no snob, I enjoy the crack on here and problems are explained in straight forward terms, you don't need to be a mechanic or have a degree to understand what they're going on about, unlike some sites.I certainly enjoyed the hood's while I had them. I only bought the westie because it was a lot more modern than the hood's I had.post-12431-0-20266800-1459112569_thumb.jpgpost-12431-0-24138900-1459112599_thumb.jpgpost-12431-0-77782300-1459112644_thumb.jpg

There probably are a few snobs out there but park your Hood next to most things on the road and your bucket of bolts always attracts the attention. I have never had so many strangers come up to me wanting a chat about something so good looking but also so cheap.
I parked it next to my sons Golf R which could out-perform the EXMO in every way, but guess which one got the attention.
Really, we should feel sorry for the Caterham lads, they spend a lot of money for the same effect.

That one turned heads every where I went, the only problem I had with her was the bonnet, if you were driving towards the sun you were dazzled

This will be my last comment /observation on this thread as tempers seem to be getting frayed :sorry: ok but my intention was not to belittle any one or diss their car , with top class reactions and perfect launch a Cologne v6 hood will possibly crack 5.0 sec to sixty , I never timed my 2.1 [ 145 bhp at crank 125 at the wheels ] but when asked I quoted two things below 6 secs and quick enough to get you in deep caca ,if I have ruffled feathers I apologise but stand by my comments ----- the caterfield gang are not all snobs or pillocks I count some of them as good fiends [ only some!]but not in the same league as members of THE BEST KIT CAR CLUBin GB and hope to catch up with some later this year !! :clapping: :drinks: mick , off line after saturday for a month

Get yourselves to Santa Pod for a Run What You Brung day......

There is no room for bragging on a sticky 1/4 mile track.

It wont give you a 0-60 time, but you do get a 0-60 foot time,

an 1/8 mile speed & time, and a finish 1/4 mile speed & time.

For more thrills take a look (&listen) to the Top Fuel boys...

Ah the old V6 where it all started. I remember it well.

0-60's are like BHP figures, just bragging rights, most differ from RR to RR in my experience.

I've always wondered why everyone places so much importance on 0-60, it's fairly worthless in real world driving and on track days. It's the equivalent of willy waving for people to brag about down the pub...only useful if you're a traffic light grand prix boy racer in your sooped up corsa in my opinion.

Now 50-70 or 30-70 times would be far more useful and relevant to the real world for overtaking or getting the power down out of a corner of a track.

Now back on topic, when you've owned an ugly beast like this, you hear all sorts of abuse, nasty things and put downs from all variety of kit car owners when they think you're not in ear shot...

But I didn't care as it got me into the kit world and taught me a hell of a lot about these cars and the market :)

You are right about the ugly but I love your post.

Bet you had a few brown trousered passengers in that if I gather right about Ian's post and the v8 😬

My wifes Audi will without doubt blow the doors off my s7 if it had any, but that's not what it's all about even going steady in a kit car is fun , always a bit of drama . Robin hoods may well be the bargain basement of the kit car world but still a great driving experience for little outlay .

Certainly bargain but not the basement.

I think the best ride I have had was last Thursday.

Started with a

little blast and then slowed down to 40/50 mph on the sunny country roads.

Will like it even more when I but a better silencer in. More of a roar than a screaming howl whenever you hit the go faster than thingy.

Ignore the haters, RHs are superb value for money. As a kit the 2B was poor, as a building challenge it was awesome fun, much more so than just bolting a Caterham kit together. Who reads instructions anyway?

I've never really worried about 0-60 times although mine is not much slower to 60 than my 343 BHP M3, it much more how it drives, feels and in gear acceleration. It's very different to my M3 but every time I take the 2B out I come back with a massive smile on my face and there a couple of corners on my local blast route than I can take quicker in the 2B than in the M3.
