Recommended Posts

I have fitted new camshaft and head I have been out for a run in it and then noticed on the cam data sheet that it should be at 105 degrees not 108 so I adjusted angle and now it wont run just pops and bangs on turnover so I turned it back to 108 and still no go I have checked everything 10 times over anyone got any ideas

Pinto dizzy runs off the cam belt via a jack shaft. If you disturb the cam belt you may well loose the accuracy of the ignition timing. Worth putting the timing light on the engine and checking what the timing is on cranking.

The difference between timing the cam to 105 or 108 ATDC would only show on a rolling road. How did you time the cam in. Dial gauge and protractor?

well need new carb for mine as only did 26 mile on a tenner watched fuel gauge go down as revs up lol primary shaft on carb is worn and works out cheaper buying new than second hand or refurb, one thing after another and I think that's why mine was not starting when left for a few days too.
