S7 Cycle Wing Brackets

Hi All - doing a S7 restore and fitting the cycle wing brackets to a Cortina frame. Has anyone done this - is it best to muller it up on the bottom fixing or use even spacers on all 3 fixings. Sorry if this is really obvious.

I'm going to be doing the same myself,so will be watching with interest, is there a tidy way of hiding the fixing holes for the flared wheel arches?
