Holes In Floor Pan

Hi All,

 

On my Mk3 there are four holes in the centre of the floor pan just in front of the seats on both near and off sides, does any one know the purpose for these holes as they look like they were done at the point of manufacture of the kit.

A stainless angle should be in place all the way across the holes. I think it is to spread the weight of the gearbox as there are 2 sets of holes on my 3A possibly to account for the 4 speed and 5 speed boxes. I've blanked off the unused set of holes on mine.

If there small holes could they be drainage holes

When I built my exmo there were 2 sets of four holes and a stainless angle purpose as cb750 says

I always drill drainage holes... Aeroscreen/no roof jobby.

 

But they are small
