Faulty Oil Pressure Switch?

Trying to get to the bottom of my lack of oil warning light. I know the light works as I've tested it.

Oil pressure switch is showing a short to ground on the outer nut itself, but the terminal shows open circuit both with the engine off and the engine running.

I assume with the engine off I should be seeing a short to ground?

Are all oil pressure switches normally closed?

All oil pressure switches are closed at no pressure and open between 10 and 15 psi.

Sounds like you need a new switch.

Remove the switch and now you really have no pressure check the switch again to see if there is a short from terminal to body.

I'll whip it out tomorrow.

Car has only done 2k but it's 7 years old so it's probably gone faulty, or the small hole is gunked up maybe
