Angle Iron.... Notch Cut Or Mitre?

As per title.

Reason is I only have an angle grinder for cutting and need to make a couple of rectangles im welding together

I'd mitre, easier one direction cut and should be strong enough for most jobs when welded.

What are they for? notch and bend may weaken the material but may not matter depending on final application

Notch & bend will be neater & strong; dependant on thickness add heat to make the bend easy & tight.

Is for a work/welding bench. So will take some hammering. I have 50x50x3 angle and 5mm plate for the top. So not exactly light weight either

Put a slab of thick wood/kitchen worktop under the top Andy & screw steel sheet down @ 6" grid or put metal spines across @6" spacings.

The 5mm sheet on its own will flex.
