Pinto With Twin Weber 40s

When not trying to finish my loom, I'm also trying to get my head around the carbs.

I have twin weber 40s on my 2.0L pinto.

Before I took the whole lot apart I think the throttle cable pulled from underneath the carbs. Is this standard? Would I be better off with it connecting from the top, and if so will I need a linkage? Does this simply 'reverse' the pull of the cable to operate the throttle on the carbs?

Probably very basic questions I'm afraid but I'm a proper rookie!

This is what I have on my twin 40's not the cheapest but is a very good set up.

There are cheaper versions and much dearer ones.

Avoid the genuine weber ones unless you are very good at jigsaw puzzles.

Mine has been fitted for 6 years now without a problem.

Thanks for the pointer. I only have a single throttle cable, do you think it would be possible to use a twin cable linkage with only one cable? That's all that seems to be on the market...

No real reason why not other than putting the pressure onto one side of the mountings, why not just fit both cables ?

You get a little gizmo the fits on the end of the throttle pedal. You never run the risk of being stranded with a broken cable.
