Hyundai Coupe V6 Engine Noises

I went on holiday and when I got back my son had gambled £600 on an e-bay car. He was proud to show me his amazing purchase on my return. 30 seconds later and I'd discovered a terrible top end engine problem with his bargain. The car sounds like a bag of hammers when revved hard but is in great condition otherwise. Can anybody on here help? The guy who sold it for cash won't take it back. No surprise there. Sell it for parts or rebuild the engine?

It taught me a lot - eventually the car went for scrap.

What is the current equivalent of £15 in 1960 ??

You were well paid in 1960. I only got £12 a week in 1967.

Longboarder, After six months I received a pay rise of 7/6d per week. This equates to a 5% increase in salary. Thus a 10% annual increase - I did get another 7/6d per week . At this point I was employed as a laboratory assistant job with one day a week release at the local technical college. Somehow I managed another 42 years, moving around the company, keeping my head down .The best thing I did was to spot the advert in the London Evening Standard !!
