Has anybody Painted their bodywork ,i only ask as mine is not in the best condition due to being left out in the rain before i got it , i found that the plastic cover had bonded itself to the metal in parts and had also rusted and pitted the metal.

i have had a go at re polishing it but it will never look as good as it did .

so now im thinking of spraying the panels before fitting ,i have a small spray booth that i use for painting bike parts so i can fit the panels in the booth and paint them with 2k paint .

i have not thought about wrapping , also another reason is the rear tub has a hole cut in the steel for the filler cap , i have a cap that came with the car but it looks like a motorcycle one and i can not see how it could work without something to lock onto some sort of flange . i do have a proper locking cap that also came with the car that has a shut off valve built into the unit but it is smaller than the hole !!, its a pity they did not leave it without the hole .

not knowing much about wrapping can you get it in high gloss finish ?

If your car hasn't gone through the IVA test yet why not allow the number plate to cover the existing hole & re-position filler to the top of the boot, will make for quicker/easier fuelling without filling your boots.

The filler hole is at top right of car so don't think number plate can be that high (can it?)

I can take a photo of how mine locks if you want John, it's a bit crude

that would be a big help ,does your fuel tank go right up to the filler cap ?. as im trying to work out how the cap locks on to the tank

Will take a couple of photos tomorrow John, remember I have a full size fiesta/escort tank though.

My filler neck is a couple of rubber boots inbetween the filler cap and tank neck.

I think I saw it on dvds somewhere in a bit more detail

Hope this picture shows Florins answer to the problem of covering the daisy hole in the rear panel -- yours may be the other hand but should still be O.K Florin has passed seven MOT's without a mention of incorrect number plate.
