Bit more done tonight put the nose cone and rear arches on and chopped the vents in on the front I've got tractor over tomorrow some we will get a bit more done

Can you not mount the rear wings lower so you don't have the huge gap between the wheel and arches?

You will need to make a new infill panel but it will improve the look of the car no end.

I know it don't look the best I'm changing the wheels to 17s and then lowering the car so hopefully that will help I'm not sure the arches will flex that much that's my only concern

If the tyres are correctly sized i.e. 40 or even 35 aspect ratio they will be approx same rolling radius and you will still have the big gap mick

Ah your joking I thought if I put 17 inch rims on same tyre wall I've gone up 2 inch from the last set and then lowering the car by 2 inch It would drop the arch?

Loads of room vertically but Is there enough clearance horizontally for the bigger wheels?

That's why Florins rear 'guards are hub mounted --- if we could have got minilite style wheels in a bigger diameter it would look better though.

You won't have any ground clearance if you drop it 2" You will also find your brake are not as effective as their "effective" leverage will have been reduced with the larger diameter wheels.

I'll have to have a look when the wheels are on it all seemed very technical I thought it would be a simple job

Its all down to keeping the overall gearing the same, or at least close.

If you put 17" wheels with high ratio tyres, you probably wont be able to pull 5th gear.

17 " wheels are far to big any way the car awful to drive with them 15" on 205 x50 tyres is as much tyre as as 7 needs

Had 17" wheels on Bobson and they looked awesome, excellent for cruising Crap for handling and braking was terrible!

Those 17s looked awesome that's for that link I'll have a look just fed up of the small wheels and massive arch gap
