Foxton locks is not far and worth a visit Market harborough is a lovely town to wander round and has a great wine shop (Duncan Murrys) as well as a real ale shop and also a micro pub. For those who want a trip out a bit further afield you have Rutland water, or head in to leicester for the national space center or the richard the third visitors center

Just as an idea of a few other venues, you have long marston, near Stratford upon Avon or Throckmorton near Evesham. Both are airfields so might be more in budget?

nearly every track is an disused airfield that includes silverstone and donnington. Quite interesting the number of airfields in ww1 and 2.

Unsurprising, but wow :). Silverstone is a hell of a lot of track :).

Mallory Park are a bit of a joke though... I think they're living on another planet!

mallory, think they are still having problems with locals so are limited on number of days use. as such will set a price to discourage some

Hope the pig supplied has been worked out exactly to the number attending with no more than a 5% excess working on a 75% second helping with all servings to be equal with in 2% subject to a spot check audit.

When I last looked in to it Blyton was around £3500 for a week day plus £800 for marshals. A weekend was £8000. It was concluded then that it was better for a group to book on to a javelin or equivalent track day

So would I Phil, but the present situation is that if a committee member disagrees with others on management then they are excluded.  Just look at the response to my question above which only asked if an earlier date would be better IF it was during school holidays.
Was my question inflammatory ?
The comical reply asked if it should be after winter payment received --- where does that come from --- a man who should be able to confirm or otherwise as he still has school age children.

does show how strong some members feel about continuing to build the event. I cant really give an in biased view on this as I was responsible along with others for starting the event. I will admit that some of the things on posts in the past few days make me wonder if any of the current committee can work together. It would appear that we have not had a committee for much of the year and this is not down to one individual as I originally thought, please get your act together.
