  1. Thanks Bob, i found a set on eBay. Much more expensive than your one though!!
  2. ha ha, gotta get GF's car through MOT today. My Golf needed new front wishbones so did that last weekend, then Exeo needs MOT then needs sold, so when I get the chance the Exmo gets some TLC :-) gonna use the time of year to get the back end done lovely. Sierra wishbones off ebay were in great condition, but still toying with getting them powder coated. Have a complete new rear beam already polybushed to go on too. Just awaiting time when I'm not getting nagged for DIY jobs too!
  3. Thank you for the link!........bought 'em!!
  4. Thanks to Dave Ed I now have a full set of build docs - many thanks mate!
  5. Hi Peter, I'm just rebuilding the rear end of my Exmo with new sierra wishbones and rear beam.....would my car benefit from these too? (while I'm at it). Where do they fit?
  6. Cheers Andy, that'd be good. My missus was looking over my shoulder and spotted your avatar piccie & said your car looks good, followed by, will our one look as good ever again? Yep, it will, if I get the bits to fix it. My Dad is paying...........he stuffed it into the armco on the dual carriageway into Glenrothes from Freuchie direction. Admittedly, there was diesel on the road. I felt it, as I was following him in his car. Very difficult watching as the exmo did a 720 & spun into the barrier. grrrrrr
  7. Hi, I'm after acquiring - NSR wing & stainless stone guard NSR tail light complete. NSR shock absorber. NSR wishbone. If anyone has any of these bits I'd appreciate it. The wheel arch and wishbone took all the impact, strong tubs these exmo's!! But she is looking rather sad parked up in the garage Contact via private message on here or on 07878 172936. Thanks, Nige.
  8. After a similar 'off', I'm needing the same bits but for NSR !! I'm struggling to find a rear arch so let me know if you find a pair & I'll have the other one! (In BRG colour, of course) :-)

    Crunch!

I think we've got away with just a wheel arch and swing arm. What do you think? http://s1136.photobucket.com/user/wirdy1/media/ADBE6985-C361-4799-9D5D-80F38DF3C126.jpg.html http://s1136.photobucket.com/user/wirdy1/media/D67EAFDF-3910-474E-87D7-873D66B42912.jpg.html http://s1136.photobucket.com/user/wirdy1/media/EB021140-F7C9-415D-8FC4-5B8837CF9DC4.jpg.html http://s1136.photobucket.com/user/wirdy1/media/89AE16AD-2AE4-4B9C-B420-9A60E0293C0D.jpg.html

    Crunch!

That's the plan over xmas hols. Get underneath for a full survey and pull the rear suspension to pieces - the body work can wait. Looks like the wishbone deformation took most of the energy of the impact, here's fingers crossed!

    Crunch!

My Dad lost the rear end last night on some dropped diesel and slammed the Exmo into an Armco barrier Damage is limited to NSR corner, rear wishbone has bent, wheel pushed forward 8 inches, driveshaft popped out, wheelarch crunched badly. At least no human damage, only metal and GRP. We didn't build the car, so no idea how the rear panels go together on the Exmo? is it a single piece with both rear arches and the stainless fill panel? the suspension bits should be easy enough to rectify with a new wishbone and brake pipe, rear shocker. Any advice appreciated please. Thanks.

    Mods To Anti-rollbar

After a track day in September at Knockhill with a great bunch of (courteous, sensible & fast) drivers from TrackScotland, I can confirm the cut ARB and sleeve tube works brilliantly. Crisp turn in and good grip from the front end around the whole track. I can also recommend the application of tyre softener for a couple of days on standard road tyres prior to a track day, instead of running Toyo's or other track-specific tyres- we had a super evening, even generating 'marbles' on the tyres, they were that sticky!

    Mods To Anti-rollbar

I did exactly the same. It does work, in fact it works great! Tried machining down the roll bar first but as most Exmo owners will tell you, this does diddly squat. So I got some 24mm Inside Diameter 2mm-walled steel tubing and sleeved about 14 inches over the anti roll bar to regain the locating strength. All I can say is the car is completely transformed on the road and my fillings are no longer being shook from my teeth!!; the front end has now lost the bouncing effect over potholes and road imperfections. You can actually feel the front shocks working at last. All I need to do now is take it on a track day to explore how it behaves when at the limits, but it feels so much better on the road which is where we do most of our driving, eh? If anyone would like some of the steel sleeving bar, I have some left over, PM me. Measure your ARB first though, they come in various diameters so obviously you need to have a 24mm one.
  14. Hi people, Just about to do my seals and had previously got some pattern seals from a well known auction site. Having read that the genuine ford ones are much better, & I didn't want to be doing the job again in a few thousand miles, so got my Dad to get some from the local Ford dealer. Hmmm. the genuine ones are a different size to my ebay ones, so which is correct?? (plus the fact the Ford ones were £3.91 +vat EACH!!) The Ford ones I now have in my hand are part number 1474550. Desc - Seal-valve stem. Finis Code 63X23D06. Also on the packet is an old part number 1474550 and the words "Dichtring EEG 6 Seal 70 HM 6571 A1B" Can anyone confirm I have the correct genuine seals? they seem a bit steep?
