Have you kept the catalytic converter with the new exhaust ? And have you read the post on my diagnostic software for the Superspec. I only mention it as we have yet to find a Superspec where the lambda sensor is working properly.

Nope, the catalytic converter was the first thing i trashed

i know that you must have two lambda sensors in order to make them work correctly (one in the manifold and one near the silencer), but my car came with only one lambda sensor and no space for the probe in the manifold, so i guess it never worked anyway

No, on the standard Superspec with the Rover MEMS 1.6, the ECU supports only a single narrow band sensor at the end of the downpipe to control the fuel/air ratio. The cat is there to clean up the residual hydrocarbons and is essential in the UK if you want to pass the emissions test we have to have every year. I assume that isn't the case in Italy ?

If the single lambda sensor isn't working then the car runs in 'limp-home' mode with a fixed, slightly rich, fuel/air ratio. Luckily this makes the car run rather better than when the sensor is working :)

Hello Alan

let's say that emission test is not so strict here in italy...

Mot has to be done every 2 years and they just check lights, brakes and security stuff

emission test is mandatory too, but they close an eye over strange cars

Just a random question

i saw a few robin hoods with mk indy's body

are they easily swappable?

No idea, I'll leave that for someone else to answer
