Super Spec Gearbox Mount

Hi

Please see the picture and tell me if this looks right, I have a MT75 gearbox and the rear doesn't look to be fitted to anything, there are 2 rubber stops bolted to the mounting bracket from underneath car but they're not fixed to gearbox there is a gap i can get my fingers in and looking from above i can see the nut on top of gearbox and there is nothing in between, I take it they should be connected together.

I cant see or feel that the bolts have sheared so if any Super Spec owners can take a pic of their rear mounts hat would be great.

They may need to be taller than the ones you have shown, John. Another thought on why old units failed --- were they too short as well?

One of the other super-spec owners will probably confirm part required. ( Maybe Alan ?)

Thanks longboarder, bit pricey for a rubber bobbin have found some online for about £5 just need to get size, but motojohn has a couple from original super spec built kit so will give them a try or see what size they are

I suspect what you already have is not the correct part, dimensions are wrong, strength wrong, etc and that's why both have failed. Not cheap I know but they are the correct part. Sierras were not renowned for rear mt75 mount failures! If you want to substitute look at some of the simpler bobbin style engine mounts. They should be up to the job. Exhaust bobbin? Rubbish.
