It's Passed

As per the title, my Zero passed its IVA test yesterday, first time, :yahoo: :yahoo: and I couldn't be happier .... well Halle Berry and a hot tub might just clinch it :acute:, but you get the drfit. Just have to wait for the registration process now before I can go and pick it up. Will probably be the week after next now.

Big thank you to Simon for correcting all the 'little things' that would have caused the failure including some slightly dodgy wiring to the starter motor (good job he checked first!). A few little jobs to do for me and then I will be on the road.

Congrats Dave, I reckon your now a particularly proud kinda guy!

Enjoy the summer and I look forward to getting together at the shows. :)

Cracking build blog by the way, a great help to others as we all pass on the baton of the

build to others.

Cheers guys. I am a very happy bunny and looking forward to using the car and getting to some shows this year.

Shaft, you are right, a couple more entries in the blog and the batton can be passed on!

Congrats. Job well done.

'a couple more entries in the blog and the batton can be passed on'

Kid yourself. The car is currently fitted to pass IVA mode. You have another three months work tailoring the car to fit you, so the controls feel right and it drives on the road like you imagined it would. Which is a different thing in my experience.

The blog has some more mileage in it yet!

Congratulations David, well done, hope Keith didn't wind you up breaking the news!!

Agree with Nigel, i've just finished carpeting the boot properly, have changed the front indicators, fitted the demisters (well you never know), am in the process of fitting the windscreen and will replace the reversing and rear fog lights.........

Thanks all for the comments. I think you are all correct that I will need to start tweaking almost straight away. The son in law is going to polish up the paint work and then apply a protective coating. It is costing me about 10% of the full retail price so I may as well have it done. I have some carbon fibre stoneguards ready to fit, I would like to change the steering wheel and I would like to fit some more comfortable seats at some point. First thing I want to do is drive it. I will also need to save up some money!

David,

As you can see from the blog pics i have chosen the NEW GBS seats, very expensive but better than the equivalent Cobras and very very comfy. When you pick your car up have a seat in it if you like.

Marty, thanks, I will do. They do look a lot more comfortable than the seats I have. The thing is that with the budget running away form me I had to hold off on some things and at about £200 for the pair, with runners, they are a bargain. As mentioned above, once I have some money saved up again, I can look at other options.
