Try this for engine dateing.

Contact GBS for the brackets BTW they come in several bits and there are several types so bits have to match up. If you can’t get any it isn’t that difficult to make your own just don’t under estimate the forces applied to these brackets.

I dated a Zetec once but she cheated on me, thats what Ford said anyway...

Seriously, surely the engine code would tie up somewhere, even the DVLA might be able to say what year of vehicle that engine was first registered to?

i understand the question is not as stated in the link .

however write to ford tech info for a date of build of an engine there is no argument then from vosa ,

nice to send a self addressed envelope , we all understand the state of the motor industry at the mo .

some have also sorted it with the burton info.

How long does it take to get a reply from ford technical?

i work for ford and its a nightmare getting through to them

on the phone. so my hopes of getting my forms for sva by the end

of the month are slim to none, though paul jepson thinks it can still be done.

lets hope there in a good mood cause i haven't any receipts or photos. duh.

I wrote & got a reply back in about 2 weeks....but that was back in 2002.....

The present slump may mean peeps are sitting twiddling their thumbs,

or there are no more peeps in the office....

I wouldnt rely on a phone call, they get forgotten...a piece of paper on someones desk

is a constant reminder to do summat about it....

As an example....

Ive been trying to buy two TOYO 888s from a company who advertise on EBAY, called M.A.P.S.

First phone call, they said theyd check with the warehouse if the size I wanted was in stock & call back.

10 days later, no phone call.

Second phone call.....he was still waiting for the warehouse to call him back...

He'd call them straight away & call me back.

A week later....he hadnt.

Third call was to TIGER RACING (thanks John Walton). Same tyre, £4 dearer, but would be ordered direct from Toyo, & couriered to me within a week. Different style of customer service all together.
