Front Wish Bone Locking Wheel Nut On Cv Joint

Tonight went out for a spin luckily not going to fast over speed humps and my locking wheel but came off bloody scary if I had been going fast I know it was on property anyone else had this happen ?

Do you mean the front hub (wheel bearing) nut? Needs to be very tight, 310-350Nm according to haynes. I dangled my weight off a medium length breaker bar to get it tight enough.

Do you mean this? There is a known problem with the outer ball joint of the lower wishbone, the one that connects the wishbone to the bottom of the sierra upright. Luckily they seem to usually pop out at low speed. This joint is 'screwed' into a cup on the end of the wishbone. Screw it back in tight as you can and drill and insert a locking pin to prevent it unscrewing again. Do both sides.

You can just about see the pin verticaly into the wishbone cup in the cutout in the cup of the balljoint. Sorry the cars so manky. Lived outside neglected for the last four years.

Thanks for the replay is the nut at the top just above Nigel in your picture didn't know about that part popping out as well
