Ignition Timing For Accuspark

Thrashed

Recommended Posts

Hi all.

I need some help with some ignition mapping.

I am running the accuspark stealth which lets you plot 7 advance settings at a given rpm.

The rolling road has the ignition set to 28'. This was a comprising figure as it wanted about 23' at the lower rev range and about 32' at the top end.

The question is what figures should I use for the 7 points? and when do I want the advance to start coming in?

Thanks

Steve

I'm not a huge fan of this style of system..but..I'd have a "load site" at the lowest revs you use..so idle..I'd then use a load site are your highest achievable rpm..that will give accurate control at these rpms. The others I'd split evenly across the Rev range.

Hope this helps

I measured this once on my engine, it has a 285 cam looks fairly steady advance.

Distributor advance, Bosch Hall effect.

RPM Advance °

1000 14

1500 18

2000 21

2500 24

3000 27

3500 30

4000 33

that exactly what I was looking for. Should give me a base and I can work from there.

Thanks
