Morning all

After some advice,

Recently bought a completed 2B and have a problem with the carb, which is over flowing from pot 3 or 4

Im trying to track down someone who recognises the carb and can recommend where to buy a service pack or where it can be sent for repair or alternatively what it can be replaced with.

The engine I have is a 2.0l ford pinto

Any advice/pointers would be great fully received as she is currently laid up 😢

what it can be replaced with.

Fuel injection? :-) Sorry, I'm not helping, I know nothing about carbs but others do and will be along soon. Welcome to the forum! Edited by nelmo

Hi. Are these motorcycle carbs. Can you post a picture

Hi Andi

They are bike carbs I believe and I have a picture, just trying to work out how to get it uploaded!

Bike carbs are very sensitive to fuel pressure, too high and they will flood, there is not a lot of force keeping the needle valve shut. What fuel pump are you using?

We bought it as a completed car, so not sure on the pump but will have a look

wot is the problem with the carbs

they look like honda fireblade carbs

Fuel is coming out of the overflow pipe on the right hand pair as circled

They look like old carbs to me, so they may look the same inside.

The most likley problem is that the float needles are not completely shutting off the fuel supply.

They may just need a clean, or else replacement. The other possibility as Peter says is too much fuel pressure.

If you have fuel coming out of breather pipe I would say possible float has stuck I would give the float bowls a tap also may be to much fuel pressure

if tapping dosent cure it take carbs off empty fuel and turn upside down several times tapping as you go to get floats moving

bike carbs only need about 2 - 2 1/2 psi fuel pressure
