Proof Of Engine Age

i seem to remeber seeing a link some time ago re sending an e mail to ford regarding proof of engine age. i cant find it at all.i can never get search engines to do what they should.... :gdit: does anybody have the email address at all please?

They replied quickly with a letter prooving the age of the engine given the serial number that we provided

What i did, was take a copy of the burton manual to the sva with me as it had all the letters and age's so to prove the engine age.

if you have the V5 for the Sierra this should have the engine's serial number on it and will be taken as proof of engine age.

what year was your doner?

my donor is an F reg sierra but my engine is either a MK1 or 2 Escort RS2000 8v pinto lump the cars registration number was BYB 1725

in that case your engine is pre 1980, last mk 2 escorts were V or poss W reg first time round.
