Can any of you superstars on here help me,I bought a (supposed rs2000)head with a piper mild road cam in it ,the intention was to gas flow it and exchange it with the one already fitted ,since then I have dropped on another head dirt cheap when i compered the 2 the rs head has a distinct curve in the inlet port where as the other is a straight run to the valve ,I assume the straight would be the better for gas flow ,the question is what is the other head off ????and is it any use ,also if it,s not as described I stand a chance of getting my money back thanks in advance gentlemen I,m sure somebody on here knows.

The injection head is the better head to use. It has better inlet ports and has 10 bhp extra as standard over the older round port head. It can still be used with carbs. It will also be unleaded fuel converted so no additional cost for conversion on a leaded round port head.

If it's already got a mild cam fitted I'd see how it goes and personally re-sell the round ported head.

Now I am definitely confused. The injector head has a definite curve in the inlet passage surely those will restrict the flow , I have taken some photos of the 2 as a comparison ,now to try and upload them, bare with me on this as me and computers have a love hate relationship. the file is too large

Can't post the photo because of Photobucket but the difference between the standard head and injection is the inlet port short side turn which on the standard head is a sharp angle, on the injection head it's a smoother transition and a slightly higher port angle.

For information there was no such thing as an RS2000 head, the only things different were the exhaust manifolds and the twin choke carbs.

As you have both heads shove your finger down the inlet port and feel the short side turn.
