Clutch Bite Point

I had the same on my hood. Is it the standard self adjusting clutch pedal on yours ?

I think this comes from the original sierra having a long travel pedal. On the hood the pedal hits the bulkhead so you are not pulling the cable the same amount.

Several things to try.

You can change to a larger dia wheel

(Mine had the larger wheel but was still not enough )

I added an eyebrow on the wheel so it lifted the cable as it turned and this helped

I still wanted a little more adjustment.

I have recently taken out the pedal assembly and filed away the rest where the clutch pawl stop is. This lets the pedal lift up a little more, effectively giving me a bit more travel on the pedal and its job done for me.

Mine is black. Dont have a picture to hand.

Because its a self adjusting clutch mechanism you have to work out a way of increasing the actual pull of the cable. Thats either a larger dia wheel / eybrow or longer pedal travel.

Some guys manage by adding a spacer inbetween the cable and pedal assembly, but it did nothing for mine, and as its self adjusting for cable stretch/clutch ware i can understand why it didn't make any difference.

Worn pedal bushes on mine, combined with a longer clutch cable gave exactly the same problem, to the point where it wouldn't always disengage when it was hot.

New pedal bushes cured it but the bite was still not far off full travel. I'm now fitting a larger quadrant to give me a bit more clearance.

Have a look at item 160891372337 on eBay

Black 55mm quadrant and fill the cable slot with a piece of brake pipe or fix ally sheet over the top with the last bit filed away so you can still attach cable end.

Sometimes washers at the bellhousing or extending with a steel tube at the pedal box end lengthens the outer cable effectively shortening the inner helps
