Why do you need to manually switch the fan on ?    Does it not come on automatically as the engine gets hot ?

 

Both Andy and I have lagged our exhaust pipes and I have fitted vents either side of my bonnet.   https://www.ebay.co....ZAAAOSw-xVZ7Ztl

 

But it is still like sitting in a sauna.   Although to be fair these temperatures we are seeing are pretty abnormal.

Thanks.  Heat gun and paint scraper and off she came clean as a whistle.  Now I just need to decide what to use to put it on the new cone.   Evo-Stic ?

If it's the rigid type you may be able to get it off using the fishing line method. Use the fishing line as a flexible saw. Done that with other car badges.

 

Not rigid, I can see it is a fairly soft plastic.
