Hello,

i am considering buying a partbuilt car on ebay but it has no V5 and no registration plates.

How difficult would it be to get this through an SVA test if at all.

It looks a good buy with all the parts but there will be no point if I cant register it

Many thanks,

Nick

Q plates are reserved for this kind of vehicle with no v5 to date the components, post a link to what your thinking of buying, someone on here may know the vehicle or at least will give an opinion.

Welcome to Rhocar :friends: :drinks:

If it's part built you will need the eBay reciept and you will have to photograph extensively your part of the built to qualify for the amature built status.

It's IVA now but similar enough not to worry about.

Without documents and receipts from a donor vehicle you will get a Q plate .

Thanks for the replys.

Are there any disadvantages of having a Q plate like more expensive insurance etc.

Heres the e bay listing number - 280677984682.

I would be grateful for any opinions on it.

I might own a Robin Hood by the weekend!!!!!

Seems a good price to me.

I could be wrong but it looks like a Robin Hood lightweight, if so these a renowned for not passing iva as the strength of the body is classed as inadequate, so you may need to rethink what to buy, please wait for someone else to comment tho as i may be wrong.

Thanks, so glad I joined this site. Would have been stuck with a nightmare, I nearly bid!

I'll keep looking out for one.

Only thing is tidy ones are hard to find.

The wife made me sell my motorbike and I need a toy to play with.

just keep looking, one will come up, Newark Kit Car show is on mid june, get yourself down for the weekend or a day, come and meet the members of RHOCAR on the stand, give you a good chance to look at plenty of hoods and plenty of other makes, have a chat with the owners and they can give you the highs and lows of building/owning a kit.

As i have said on many occasions this website is the Haynes manual for kit car building :drinks:
