Shortened Sump

Hi everyone,

I'm currently rebuilding a 2.0 engine and thought it seems a good time to put a shortened sump on.

Does anyone have one for sale?

If not where can I get one fabricated from and how much is it likely to cost?

Thanks in advance, Jon

Look here for the instructions. If you weld then it is easy to do yourself but if not then the cheapest way is to cut it and make the side box and base yourself and take it along to a local small engineering/fabrication firm and get them to weld it up for you. Use 3mm steel for the base and defiantly put the drain plug low down in the side of the side box and NOT in the base as even with it shortened you will still clout it occasionally.

jon, robin hood will exchange yours for round the £100 mark, if you have a go at fabricating your own, i've seen the details on a link to this site, but don't remeber which one, if you need a sump let me know as I still have a spare in the shed, pat (07732516788)

Mine is the original chopped off then laid back inside itself (like putting Tupperware one inside the other (or maybe it's 2 sumps, I didn't do it) & welded, reduced capacity but doesn't seem to be an issue. It's the easiest way, maybe not the best but easiest.

I will build a guard under it eventually....

Dan :)
