Cylinder Head Bolts

Just about to refit the cylinder head, the engine is out of the car and I don't have a stand. I have torq type bolts, so need to do the 3 stage torquing procedure.

 

I am not worried about doing the first 2 stages, but don't fancy trying to apply the extra 90 degrees with the engine on the floor. Can anyone confirm that I shouldn't have any problems if I leave the 3rd stage tightening, until I get the engine back in the car?

i think you may be leaving it a bit too long Nige.

the figure of 5 or 20 minutes comes to mind between 2nd and 3rd stages.

 

am off work til 19/3 so if you want part of it holding give me a call and i'll come over.
