A brand new oil pump dowel pinging out of the oil pump and vice in to the depths of my very untidy work shop

Well done for finding it! reminds me of many years ago taking an Austin 1100 gearbox apart and seeing 3 detent ball bearings and springs flying out over the garage only found 2 of them but worked fine afterwards.

Had similar with my 1/2 gear synchro spring, ping and it's disappeared forever into the garage mists never to be found.

I heard a similar ping last weekend whilst i was removing a circlip, followed by a rattle across the garage. It had only flown all the way across the garage to land in the box i got it out of.
