my understanding is that the EDIS-4 alone will set your ignition timing at 10-degrees BTDC throughout the rpm range......this is referred to as a 'engine-safe' mode.......the engine will run safely but have no power because the timing is fixed at 10degrees.

You need an ECU (megajolt for example).....which takes engine input signals (crank sensor and manifold load or TPS) and works out from an installed ignition 'map' what ignition timing is required at a given load/rpm and the megajolt tells the EDIS when to fire the coils...

Basically.....if the EDIS has no ECU controlling it then it fixes itself at 10-degrees 'safe-mode'.

Guys....Lew (windscreen man) is struggling with a Redtop that has bike carbs

and a NODIZ system fitted, & is not giving much power.

Is there any chance that your maps may get him at least up & running?

I know they are different engines, but both 2.0, both 16V.....it has to be close?

my nodiz was the same when i got it ran with no power what so ever. It was supplied with 1 d map ie no tps or temp correction etc. uploaded the correct 3d map and bam it goes like stink. Matt at mtec was a bit supprised when i told him how *bleep* his map was, if it was as claimed a dyno created map then i wont be using that dyno anytime soon
