Hub Nut Thread Direction

Evening everyone, hopefully a simple one! I have a pair of front hubs which I am attempting to refurb but I can't work out the thread direction to get the nut off.

 

The Haynes manual says there should be an R stamped on to identify the right hand hub, but there isn't one. The nuts however each have a different colour band on them (I think they are called lock bands).

 

Does anyone know? One is green and one yellow.

Hi, I recently removed my rear drive shaft hub nuts - the green nylock nut was right hand thread and the white nylock was left hand thread. Dont know if that helps but i'm sure someone will be along shortly who will confirm the details for you.

Thanks Andy, I've just checked again and one is *blue* and one is yellow, fingers crossed someone will know

Lesson learned, RTFM lol. If I had read further on....the Haynes clearly states that Blue is right handed thread and Yellow is left handed! Feel daft now, ahwell might help someone one day
